BYOD - Device Program

Year 3 – 6 iPad Information

At KPS all students from Years 3 – 6 are requested to participate in our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program which allows iPads to be used at school throughout the day.

We ask our students to bring their iPad to school every day where they can login and connect to the school's NBN. This connection allows access to apps that are regularly used by your child’s class teacher. We have a strict internet usage policy in our school and all students are to follow the iPromise which is an agreement between the student, teacher and parent(s)/guardian(s).

Our contemporary learning environments offer flexibility and opportunities for collaboration, independence, and connectivity to the wider world. This anytime, anywhere learning is supported by access to technologies including iPads.

Kingston Primary School’s approach is to provide many learning opportunities for every child within our school. These devices do not replace our current ways of teaching and learning, rather, they enhance them by providing alternatives for our students. We recognise that all children learn in different ways so we want to provide those opportunities for our students.

If your child is unable to bring an iPad to school, each class will have a small number of iPads that will be used for lessons. In this scenario, your child will not miss out on key learning experiences in the classroom.
